Role Overview:
Aveo Group is seeking a passionate cook to join its Peregian Springs Country Club. The role involves preparing, cooking, and presenting meals for the residents, ensuring that all food served meets high-quality standards. As a cook, you will manage kitchen stock, including rotation and stocktaking, and work under the direction of the Chef Manager. If you have experience working in a kitchen or catering setting, this role is ideal for you.
In addition to preparing delicious meals, the role requires you to maintain the kitchen’s adherence to safety standards, including OH&S regulations, ensuring that all equipment is in working order. You’ll work closely with other Food & Beverage staff, fostering teamwork to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen operations.
What We Offer:
The position offers competitive pay, including a casual loading of 25%. At $38.35 per hour, you’ll be well-compensated for your skills. This role is casual, with shifts offered on an ad-hoc basis, covering leave or busy periods. Shifts are during the day, with no early starts or late finishes, allowing you to maintain a work-life balance.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals as per the menu
- Manage stock, ensuring proper rotation and stocktake procedures are followed
- Ensure the kitchen is clean, safe, and adheres to health and safety regulations
- Maintain and manage kitchen equipment
- Collaborate with fellow Food & Beverage staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations
What You’ll Bring:
To succeed in this role, you will have experience working in a kitchen or catering environment. This could include previous roles as a Kitchen Hand, Cook, or Chef. While a Food Safety Certificate or Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is desirable, it is not essential. Most importantly, you’ll have a friendly, approachable personality and a passion for food, making you an ideal fit for this community-driven role. Additionally, you must have a minimum of two COVID-19 vaccinations, as this is a requirement for working in the role.
